Amazing butter cookies with Earl Grey!

Aroma of these cookies will leave you glued to the oven window and waiting.... Very unusual and interesting - something you really don't try on every occasion. I baked them twice already and although my kids are not fans I am and so were many of my friends. So let's say it is more for adults but I am sure there are some kids fans as well! Let me know if you'll find some!

Ingredients for 8 dozen cookies:
  • 2 cups of all purpose flour,
  • 2 tablespoons of ground tea leaves Earl Grey (roughly 4 tea bags),
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt,
  • 230g butter at room temperature,
  • half a cup of icing sugar,
  • orange flavor or peeled skin of one orange
Using your electric mixer cream the butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add sugar and salt and keep mixing.
In a separate bowl mix flour with tea. Then add it to the butter mixture together with orange peel and mix some more.
Form two long rolls from the mixture with approx 3cm diameter. Cover it tight with a baking paper and freeze for about an hour. After this time slice it with a sharp knife (about 4mm slices) and place on a parchment not too far away from each other (cookies don't grow but melt and expand just a bit).
Bake it for about 12-15min in 180C and/or until you see golden edges.
Cool on a rack and enjoy!
They last for about 7 days kept in a airtight container.
